Marcus Green moderates a panel at the Litigation Financing & Investment Forum in New York City on October 2nd. The panelists will examine the various litigation funding options for companies and high-net-worth individuals. During the discussion, Mr. Green will review how to identify what sourcing option may be best suited for a particular need, as well as the benefits and limitations of using third-party funders, hedge funds, loans, and private equity, among others.
Former U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor, Martin De Luca, will join a global panel on corporate criminal liability at the third annual International Compliance Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 2nd. Focusing on corporate criminal liability under U.S. Federal Law, the panel will review scope of authority, constitutional rights during prosecution, and potential penalties corporations and individuals may face.
Hartley West led a panel analyzing recent trends and issues pertaining to the regulation of cryptocurrency at the Bar Association of San Francisco on September 26th. The discussion highlighted a wide variety of related questions, from what motivates regulators to intervene in the progress of digital currencies to how key players in the industry have responded to government enforcement actions. The panel, which includes representatives from the SEC, DOJ, a crypto-security start-up and the private defense bar, also explored the future direction of enforcement and how it might shape the digital currency and other blockchain industries.
