With the recent reform of the Brazilian Bankruptcy Law, Kobre & Kim’s Farrington Yates will join a Brazil-Florida Business Council panel to discuss the opportunities presented to international investors at 5pm Miami time/6pm São Paulo time, June 16, 2021.
The discussion, “Managing a Cross-Border Restructuring: The Bankruptcy Law Reform and Opportunities for Investors,” will include topics such as the sale of assets in judicial reorganizations; new frameworks for lending to companies under reorganization; improving creditors’ rights, such as the right to present an alternative reorganization plan; and the recent practical impact of the pandemic on the distressed asset market.
Mr. Yates will be joined by distinguished speaker Eleazar Carvalho Filho, founding partner of Virtus BR Partners and chairman of Oi S.A.; moderator Alex Hatanaka of Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados; Samuel Aguirre of FTI Consulting; and Cristiana Ferraz of Deutsche Bank.
