John Conte represents a diverse array of parties in insolvency-related disputes and investigations. In particular, his practice focuses on representing distressed companies, financial institutions, ad hoc creditor groups, debtor-in-possession financing lenders, investors, asset purchasers, equity holders and other stakeholders in chapter 11 and chapter 15 cases, as well as in connection with out-of-court restructurings, rescue financings, distressed exchanges and liability management transactions.
Before joining Kobre & Kim, Mr. Conte practiced in the business restructuring groups at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Conte served as an infantry officer in the United States Army where he was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
