Layan K. Charara

Layan Charara focuses her practice on defending clients in white-collar criminal matters and international government enforcement actions. She handles investigative and enforcement actions brought by U.S. regulators and agencies such as the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Ms. Charara has particular experience in handling national security matters, including those related to export controls and economic sanctions.
Before joining Kobre & Kim, Ms. Charara practiced at Latham & Watkins LLP. Prior to that, she was a Bates Fellow at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
