Kobre & Kim Expands Conflict-Free Litigation Offering in Caribbean/Latin America with New Hires

March 18, 2013

Kobre & Kim has announced the expansion of their Miami office with the addition of John Couriel and Stephen Leontsinis, bolstering the firm’s practice in the Caribbean and South America.

On the appointments, Matthew Menchel, head of the Miami office, said “We are very excited to have John and Stephen in our Miami office.  Both are exceptional lawyers who will bring a wealth of experience to our Latin America and Offshore practices.”

John, who served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, will focus his practice on high-stakes cross-border litigation and investigations, with a particular focus on Latin America. Stephen, who joined from Conyers Dill & Pearman in Grand Cayman this past November, focuses his practice on contentious trust litigation and insolvency disputes in various offshore jurisdictions.

With the additions of both John and Stephen, Kobre & Kim has continued to expand its onshore/offshore litigation and arbitration practice. The firm is currently the only conflict-free firm in Miami that has the capacity to litigate and advocate in the world’s leading jurisdictions for complex financial, company, and onshore/offshore insolvency disputes, as well as cross-border government enforcement and regulatory investigations.
