Cayman Islands-based insolvency lawyer Rebecca Hume explored how the UK’s decision to leave the European Union impacts hedge funds and the private equity industry at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Caribbean Insolvency Symposium in Grand Cayman. The February 11 panel, titled “Keep Calm and Carry on Investing,” highlighted how Brexit continues to impact cross-border bankruptcy proceedings and the potential consequences for asset recovery, as well as what it means for the restructuring and winding-up of entities commonly used within the industry, particularly in the Cayman Islands.
