Kobre & Kim’s Women’s Initiative hosted an all-women happy hour and panel discussion on May 6 on legal issues surrounding cross-border cases and related negotiations amidst the global disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic. Women’s Initiative co-chair Gabriela Ruiz served as moderator, with Adriana Riviere-Badell and Rebecca Hume providing additional insights alongside colleagues from AD Advogados, Machado Meyer and WZ Advogados.
In front of a primarily Brazil-based audience, the discussion focused on various discovery tools available to clients in courts outside of Brazil. With each panelist offering jurisdictional-specific insights on local discovery regimes, the lawyers shared their insights on the current climate, as well as how to utilize courts and discovery tools in the U.S. and Offshore courts to help achieve a client’s objectives.
