Kobre & Kim Lawyers Discuss Cross-Border Insolvency and International Judgment Enforcement at the International Litigation, Arbitration, and Transactions Conference

February 26, 2016

Adriana Riviere-Badell, based in the firm’s Miami office, and barrister James Corbett QC, discussed the increasing trend of multijurisdictional bankruptcies and insolvencies, together with the complications involved in such proceedings, at the International Litigation, Arbitration & Transactions (ILAT) Conference in Miami.

In addition, New York-based partner Jef Klazen moderated a discussion on defensive and offensive asset recovery tactics in the enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards. The panelists addressed offshore asset protection trusts, new developments in the trust laws of Nevis, and the impact of recent New York court decisions on recovering assets from sovereign and nonsovereign judgment debtors.

The ILAT Conference is an annual event hosted by the International Law Section of the Florida Bar.
