Chinese companies have significantly increased the scale and scope of their investments in Brazil over the past decade, but they may face complex barriers when it comes time to collect on their multi-billion-dollar investments. Kobre & Kim’s John Han and Carolina Leung will join a virtual panel discussion on how Chinese investors can secure their investments at 9:00 am São Paulo time, September 14, 2021.
The panel, “How to Secure Chinese Investments in Brazil,” will be hosted by Brazilian law firm Warde Advogados and will also feature Guo Yinghui of CCPIT Brasil, Nina D’Ottaviano of China Construction Bank, Fernando Mendes of Warde and Walfrido Warde of IREE. Together, the panel will discuss how issues such as counterparty default of a contract, local enforcement of a Brazil judgment or embezzlement of funds by local partners could hinder the monetization of Chinese investments, and how these issues can be overcome.
