A Kobre & Kim team led by Steve Perlstein, George Stamatopoulos and Zach Rosenbaum has been recognized as a runner-up in Law.com’s Litigator of the Week following a significant victory on behalf of former executives of AIG Financial Products.
The recognition follows a ruling by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware holding that approximately US $37 billion transferred by American International Group to AIG Financial Products Corp. constituted an equity infusion rather than debt. After a nine-day evidentiary hearing, the court sided with 46 former executives seeking to recover more than US $600 million in deferred compensation and related claims.
The Law.com recognition highlighted the Kobre & Kim team's role in securing the result in one of the most significant recent disputes involving intercompany claims, creditor priorities and bankruptcy recoveries.
