Publication: Benchmark Litigation
Hailed as “truly unique,” Kobre & Kim’s New York office was highly ranked in the 2016 edition of Benchmark Litigation. The guide praises the firm’s focus on cross-border matters and disputes involving monetary amounts of US $50 million and greater, as well as the firm’s conflict-free business model. One peer noted that “[i]t must take a lot of discipline to do this, because your natural inclination as a firm is to want to grab at repeat business but Kobre & Kim has stayed true to its model, and it seems to be working for them because they get a ton of business that others are conflicted out of.”
Kobre & Kim co-founder Michael Kim was also recognized as a “Litigation Star” and described as “a revered specialist among New York peers for his dynamic, aggressive approach.” The publication highlights the success that Mr. Kim and his team had negotiating a consent order that significantly reduced the civil monetary penalties and equitable relief that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) originally sought against their client.
