The “Panama Papers” marks the single greatest leak of confidential information to date. In an article published in the August issue of The Corporate Counselor, Tim Prudhoe and Anna Gilbert discuss the unprecedented opportunities available to creditors following the release of this data, about 11.5 million documents, from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca. The lawyers explain how creditors, if afforded the proper information and judicial support, may be able to identify, trace, and recover assets that were, prior to the leak, protected by opaque structures.
