Publication: Global Arbitration Review
Jef Klazen, Randall Arthur, and Gabrielle Liu explore the enforceability of judgments and the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), the latest dispute resolution forum in the region. The article discusses the planning involved in the establishment of the SICC, which signals Singapore’s desire to establish itself as a leading jurisdiction for dispute resolution in Asia. However, while there may be a resurgence of litigation to resolve cross-border disputes, there is the question as to whether the SICC will be able to ensure its judgments are as easily enforced as arbitration awards under the New York Convention.
