Benjamin Sirota on Jonathan Kanter's Nomination to Head DOJ Antitrust Division in CQ Roll Call

Jonathan Kanter, the nominee to head the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, is set to face his Senate nomination hearing. Kobre & Kim's Benjamin Sirota, a former federal prosecutor in the division, shared his thoughts with CQ Roll Call on Mr. Kanter's potential tenure.

Mr. Kanter is a veteran antitrust lawyer who has worked on lawsuits against Big Tech companies like Google. "In many ways, he seems to meet the moment," Mr. Sirota said. "He is clearly poised to be aggressive against tech companies and on potential monopolization issues generally, in line with administration priorities. But as a practicing antitrust lawyer for many years, including on the defense side, he may take more of a gradual approach in other areas."
