As the United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerges as a significant economic center, it has attracted international creditors seeking to recover debts as part of a worldwide enforcement campaign. Several paths exist for the recognition of foreign judgments or awards in the UAE, including through the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) or Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) courts, as well as in onshore courts. Judicial tools are also available to respond to debtor strategies, including fraudulent conveyance.
