Rehana Popal represents global financial institutions, corporate boards, investment funds, special committees, creditors and creditor committees, debtors, liquidators, trustees and other investors in cross-border insolvency and commercial disputes with a nexus to offshore financial centers. She has handled cases involving bankruptcy, creditors’ and members’ voluntary liquidations and provisional liquidations.

A qualified barrister in England & Wales as well as a Bermuda qualified attorney, Ms. Popal also has experience in complex insurance litigation. She has advised the Bermuda Monetary Authority on insolvency, regulatory, noncompliance and winding up matters.

In addition, Ms. Popal is well versed in public and civil law, having appeared before the English High Court in a range of cases involving national security, unlawful detention, immigration and human rights.

Before joining Kobre & Kim, Ms. Popal practiced at Walkers, focusing on insolvency, commercial and insurance litigation in Bermuda. Prior to that, she practiced at 33 Bedford Row and 10 Kings Bench Walk in London.
