Rebecca Hume to Co-Chair Asset Recovery International 2020

February 24, 2020

Kobre & Kim’s Rebecca Hume will be co-chairing and speaking at the Asset Recovery International conference in Dublin, Ireland, from February 26 to 28.

Ms. Hume will help lead the first day of the conference, giving opening and closing remarks. She will also be moderating and speaking on several panels: “Follow the Money: Reversing Fraudulent Transfers” will focus on how insolvency practitioners can trace and recover assets when fraudsters are finding it easier to move assets across borders and conceal their location. “Offensive Use of Insolvency to Beat the Fraudsters” will leverage a case study to examine how insolvency can be used to seize assets in conjunction with traditional remedies.

Ms. Hume will also chair discussions on cross-border considerations when pursuing directors, officers and third parties in “Targeting Deep Pockets” and on recovering stolen assets from Ponzi schemes in “Hey Mr. Ponzi: Where did you go with our Money?” Finally, Ms. Hume will preside over a debate on whether offshore jurisdictions are a help or hindrance to asset recovery efforts in a panel entitled “Offshore – a Haven for Dirty Money, or at the Forefront of Asset Recovery?”
