March 23, 2017

Former U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor Vasu Muthyala led two discussions focused on the impact of anti-corruption on businesses in Asia at the ALB Hong Kong Anti-Corruption Forum on March 23.

During the session “How the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act Shape the way Business is Done in Asia,” Mr. Muthyala addressed how recent enforcement actions may impact Asian businesses. The presentation also tackled new enforcement tools, key considerations and how to identify anti-corruption risks.

Mr. Muthyala also moderated the panel “Achieving Internal Compliance through Effective Anti-Bribery & Corruption Programmes and Internal Control Systems,” during which he focused on internal compliance programs, including assessing risks, how implementation and training may be affected by the economy, and how companies can react and adapt their programs accordingly.
