Hong Kong-Based Lawyers Shaun Wu and Vasu Muthyala Discuss Regulatory Developments and Best Practices for Navigating Asia-Pacific M&A

Hong Kong-based lawyers Shaun Wu and Vasu Muthyala explored regulatory developments, best practices and tips for navigating M&A deals in the Asia-Pacific region March 1 at the IFLR Asia M&A Forum.

Mr. Wu, who focuses his practice on China outbound disputes, tackled current trends in cross-border litigation resulting from mergers and acquisitions in Asia. The discussion, titled “Best practices in resolving Asian M&A disputes,” highlighted important factors to consider when handling M&A-related disputes in Asia, the role of alternative dispute resolution in commercial transactions, and how to handle a deal gone wrong.

Former U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor Vasu Muthyala addressed the impact of legal and regulatory changes on M&A deals in India. The panel, titled “Focus: India,” provided insight into the dealmaking environment in India, key factors of which foreign investors should be aware when structuring deals in the region, and predictions for 2017.
