Rebecca Hume and Andrew Stafford KC will examine international judgment enforcement, asset recovery and fraud litigation on February 28 at KNect’s “Asset Recovery: Fraud Litigation, Enforcement & Contentious Insolvency” conference.
Rebecca Hume, a Cayman-based insolvency litigator and a chair of this year’s conference, will moderate a discussion on cross-border judgment enforcement, titled “Enforcement and Recognition – Global Perspectives.” The panel will highlight the latest trends in the recognition, enforcement and execution of foreign judgments and the legal concerns that may be encountered during a global dispute. Ms. Hume will also lead panels on pre-judgment receiverships in international asset recovery, and the pros & cons of asset recovery via an insolvency process.
English barrister Andrew Stafford KC will explore the liabilities of auditors and advisors in global fraud disputes. The panel, “Finding a Deep Pockets Defendant After Fraud,” will focus on the international approaches to litigation against service providers and other third parties following a fraud.
