Publication: The Legal 500
Kobre & Kim has earned recognition by The Legal 500 on its latest list of Latin America International Firms for Compliance and Investigations. The publication also individually recognized Carolina Leung as a Rising Star in this category.
In giving the firm this recognition, The Legal 500 said, “Kobre & Kim is unique among international firms in having a São Paulo office with a strong emphasis on white-collar criminal and government enforcement cases.” The publication spotlighted Martin De Luca, a former U.S. federal prosecutor based in Latin America; Gabriela Ruiz, “known for cross-border investigations, including cases involving dual proceedings in the U.S. and Latin America”; Evelyn Sheehan and Adriana Riviere-Badell, “experienced figures in FCPA, anti-corruption and money laundering cases involving the region”; and Carolina Leung, who the publication said, “also impresses.”
The Legal 500 quoted testimonials, which note that Kobre & Kim “distinguishes itself” by dealing with “specific cases and not clients, so they are free of conflicts of interest.” Others praised the leadership of three female partners, Evelyn Sheehan, Gabriela Ruiz and Adriana Riviere-Badell, who all “demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience” and speak fluent Spanish, allowing them to “understand and function naturally when dealing with cases in the region.” Another noted that the firm has “the most qualified and prepared team to deal with compliance and investigations” among U.S. firms, with “capabilities to render services in Latin America.”
