A trio of Kobre & Kim lawyers with extensive backgrounds in Asset Recovery are all making an appearance at the 2021 Asset Recovery Americas Virtual Conference on May 27, 2021.
D. Farrington Yates is co-chairing the conference, which aims to focus on Fraud Litigation, Contentious Insolvency and Enforcement in the Americas. The U.S. & LatAm focused event “brings together leading practitioners in the arbitration, fraud and insolvency world.”
Daniel Saval will be speaking on the panel “Crypto-currency and cyber litigation,” which begins at 1:00 pm EDT. This panel aims to examine the transition to moving to digital business, and the related spread of online fraudulent activity, while identifying the major trends in cyber litigation – including that related to the increasingly popular trading of digital currency.
At 1:45 pm EDT, Evelyn Sheehan will be a panelist on “Criminal Investigations – do they help or hinder recovery?” Alongside a group of asset forfeiture and criminal investigations practitioners, Ms. Sheehan will evaluate the act of claimants’ informing law enforcement authorities of fraud – including whether it is helpful and, if so, at what point the enforcers should be notified.
