SÃO PAULO, December 2, 2020 – Leonardo A. F. Palhares has joined Kobre & Kim as the Regional Managing Director, Latin America. Mr. Palhares is a member of senior management with responsibility for the firm’s strategic commercial relationships, as well as for providing business advice to clients throughout Latin America.
As the only global law firm in São Paulo focused solely on disputes and investigations, Kobre & Kim offers extensive experience with cross-border litigation and investigations. The firm specializes in international asset recovery and insolvency, government investigations, and special situations arising out of international fraud and misconduct.
Mr. Palhares joins the existing São Paulo team, which includes experienced U.S. civil litigator, Gabriela Ruiz and former US Department of Justice prosecutor, Martin De Luca.

At Kobre & Kim, Mr. Palhares will focus on enhancing the firm’s cooperation with other professional firms in Brazil and on providing strategic business advice to clients in crisis situations arising from international fraud and misconduct cases. Prior to joining Kobre & Kim, Mr. Palhares was a partner at Brazilian law firm Almeida Advogados. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer by a number of publications, including Análise 500 and The Legal 500, the first of which ranked him amongst the top 10 most admired Brazilian Attorneys overall.
