Maria Makar represents individuals and corporations in complex commercial litigation, including disputes related to financial products and services. She deals with matters related to complex securities, commercial and other white-collar litigation, including those involving the financial services, healthcare, insurance, real estate and retail industries. Ms. Makar also has experience in corporate governance, intellectual property and international arbitration matters.
Before joining Kobre & Kim, Ms. Makar clerked for the Honorable Kenneth K. Lee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Jill A. Otake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. Prior to that, she practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
