Tim Prudhoe Compares New TCI Draft Insolvency Legislation With Existing BVI Regime

The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) have had an impressive legislative agenda of late that has included innovative trusts legislation and a comprehensive new Companies Ordinance — the main parts of which will come into force October 1. The companies legislation is nearing completion and will be the first time that TCI has ever had a statute dealing with insolvency issues that does not simply form a subset of company legislation. In a recent INSOL International article, Tim Prudhoe sets out some of the highlights from a comparison between the TCI draft legislation and the British Virgin Islands legislation on which the intended new TCI insolvency regime is based.
