Calvin K. Koo to Speak on Sanctions and International Arbitration at Ciarb Event

Kobre & Kim’s Calvin K. Koo will be speaking at an upcoming hybrid evening talk hosted by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch) on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at 6:30pm HKT at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).

Calvin will join a distinguished panel to discuss “The Impact of Sanctions on International Arbitration”, offering strategic insights into how sanctions regimes are affecting parties, counsel, and arbitral tribunals. The session will cover the sanctions currently being implemented, practical challenges arising in cross-border disputes, and key considerations for navigating and resolving related legal issues.

He will be joined by Genevieve Lam, Counsel at Deacons, and Isuru Devendra, Barrister at 36 Stone, both of whom bring significant experience in international arbitration and cross-border disputes. The discussion will be moderated by Felda Yeung, Partner at Gall, a leading disputes practitioner with extensive experience guiding complex arbitration and litigation matters.
