Eric Snyder Discusses Criminal Tax Issues at the IBA 18th Annual Transnational Crime Conference

Eric Snyder served as a panel moderator at the International Bar Association’s 18th Annual Transnational Crime Conference in Berlin on May 7. The panel, titled “Criminal Tax or Extension of the Battlefield?,” explored the recent developments in VAT-carousel-cases or comparable transnational tax fraud cases, prosecution risks from cross border information exchanged between tax authorities and the legal framework of evidence gathering by mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, and the possibilities and legal concepts to escape from criminal liability in tax fraud cases including voluntary disclosure.
